Paul Shima was born and raised in Hawaii and is of Japanese/American ancestry. He moved to New York City in 1984 where he continues to live and work as a commercial and fine art photographer.

The fine art photographs are all taken with a pinhole camera. They are shot on film, scanned and printed digitally. There are no computer generated effects the work.

Prints can be purchased in almost any size imaginable. The standard print size is 16x30 inches, flush mounted on a sheet of aluminum with a box mount on the back, ready for hanging, signed by the artist for $1200 each.
